To start the week, I was slightly nervous as I didn’t know what to expected and what was expected of me.

We started with a very busy day with over 30 SAs that needed making up.

I had to just jump in the deep end and get on with things. There was a lot to take in and things to adapt to, like the hours we had to work.

I think the make-up team just wanted to get an idea of me the first few days and to see how I got on.

I was able to do some tattoo coverings, nail filing and polishing and a 50s lip on some of the SAs.

By the end of the week I was absolutely exhausted. I still had very much enjoyed myself, but didn’t know how I would cope with the second week.

Week 2

This week there was a lot of make-up continuity I had to follow, and I was left to get on with the make-up and putting burlesque head accessories.

There were a few firsts for me this week, which luckily there was no time for me to worry as they were always last minute, for example I was asked to trim someone’s hair to resemble 1950s mens hair style. Also having to put a head scarf on another character whom had been made up before, so I had to recreate the look from the continuity file. I had never put a head scarf on anyone before, especially in the way it had been done in the photo and having to make it look the same was a worrying moment. But once I had finished I was extremely pleased with the outcome and so were the make-up team!

By the end of this week, I left on such a high, I didn’t want to leave! The make-up team were the loveliest bunch of hard working ladies, the whole cast and crew were very friendly and great to work with.

On the whole I absolutely loved my experience, which has taught me so much about working in the TV industry.

I’m really grateful for the valuable experiences Veronica has put me up for, not only have I been trained to a high standard, I now have experience and contacts in the work field.
