Our emphasis is on helping you to succeed once you have graduated. Work placements are a key element of that success. MAKUP The Agency will support you in finding that all-important first job.
On completion of the Intensive Set Ready Course, you will automatically become a member of our Agency, giving you exclusive access to as many placements as possible. This benefit is completely free of charge to graduates.
The Agency service has a dual function with former student Leannah Carer being an excellent example. Not only did the Agency help her to gain relevant industry experience, but that work experience directly led to Leannah making essential industry contacts, through which she was offered her first makeup designer role on a film that won an OSCAR at the 2018 Academy Awards for best short film.
While the Agency cannot guarantee work, Veronica’s incredible 30 years of industry links, combined with the fact that she still actively works in the industry, means that there will always be work opportunities for you on exciting and varied projects.

My experience on Dumbo:- I have just spent 4 very hard working but amazing weeks on a film production as a paid trainee make-up artist. It has given me such an in-depth insight into this career I have trained for. I did a variety of tasks such styling men’s hair, assisting the makeup artists with rollers, cleaning brushes, maintaining their work space clean and tidy but more importantly being on set and getting involved with doing checks. It was so exiting to be in this busy environment and put into practice the set etiquette we were taught at the Makup academy. It also consolidated all learning I accumulated at the Makup academy and made me realise how high the standard of Veronica’s training was .
This placement has also helped me put into context my learning by being paid to actually do the job I have trained for. It’s been great getting to know the makeup artists and to see their work in action, it truly is inspiring and have gained so much knowledge and many tips whilst working on the job.
It’s quite surreal that I have had the opportunity to work on a Tim Burton movie. For this to be my first major job so soon in my career I feel very grateful, I would never have imagined to be working on a blockbuster film set 6 months ago.I can’t thank Veronica and the Makup agency enough for this brilliant opportunity

“My experience at the Makup Academy has been incredible! Doing the intensive 4 month set‑ready course has nurtured and improved my skill base dramatically. Veronica is a first class tutor and I feel privileged to have someone with so much talent, industry experience and passion to be my mentor.
“Through Makup Academy I have not only received the best possible training, but also paid work experience on a feature length film. Working alongside such talented cast and crew has given me invaluable experience, all of which would not have been possible without Veronica’s support and contacts. ”
